New Discovery of Cool Feature

We were checking out the bird during XMAS and saw the rubberized housing for the tips of the hood that are built into the '02 Bird to eliminate chipping of the paint when the hood is cranked open.

I am not sure what that feature is called and have not looked it up in the manual but do think it is a very cool feature.

It certainly deserves mention over the hook on the glove box. That feature is not on my Navigator or Harley F-150. Is that something new for Ford or has it been a feature on other cars?
