I posted a while back about an odd issue where my blinkers stopped working but when the multifunction switch was engaged it caused my headlights to turn off. Same with the hazards. I was pointed in a couple of directions and I ende dup replacing the MFS with one I got off eBay. Initially the problem wasn't fixed, it was shifted. As soon as I engaged the switch the brights turned on and the blinkers still didn't work. I went to disconnect the battery again so I could remove the part and send it back when I realized I forgot to lower the windows. Reconnected the batter and by chance tested the MFS one more time and they worked. So I'm between believing the switch replacement worked but more likely, the disconnecting and reconnecting the batter repeatedly is what did the trick. Either way. I'm back to the other issues to care for and now I've got intermittent muting on the radio.

Has anyone experienced the windshield fluid pump motor not working? Or issues where the motorized mirrors won't work? Appreciate this forum.

I cleaned the multifunction switch on my 2004 Jeep rather than replacing it and it worked like new again! The contacts get patina on them.

I would read the FEM thread and see if those symptoms match any of your issues. The FEM may need send off for repair.

Check fuses for the fluid pump.

This happens a lot on various 2000's Ford vehicles and is often related to the clockspring. Does the cruise control have intermittent issues as well? I had this problem on a 2001 Ford and it impacted the cruise control on the steering wheel, and it would do it intermittently until one day it quit working completely. Replaced the clockspring and the steering wheel controls worked again.

See thread-

No issues with the cruise control at all actually. When I replaced the MFS it replaced the clock spring as well but neither were problematic prior. I do fear the FEM being a culprit as well, only for the cost and the downtime.
