Hi. I own a 2003 Tbird Premium, and considering replacing the factory radio. There are dash kits to convert the oddly shaped opening to a standard DIN sized opening, but I have been told that the radio is integrated into the security system of the car, and without it, the car will not run. Is this a bunch of hogwash, or am I stuck with factory radio? Thanks in advance for your help.

There is some truth to your statement. Somehow, the radio is tied into the cars security system. I spoke to a local audio shop and they have a method of removing the radio but it leaves the cars factory security system useless.
