I have two of the BlueDriver devices mentioned in the video above - outstanding features for the price ($99). Be aware leaving one connected full time may be a battery drain when the car is parked. Otherwise the “live” features are informative such as “spot” gas mileage, engine temp/load, etc

I ordered the bluedriver on amazon. I was here the next day. It exceeded my expectations. My check engine light was on (2004 tbird) and it found two issues. Next did a full sweep reading and I finally feel that I can make progress with this car. 14 small issues were found I now understand why I am always at the dealers. I have been a cash cow, but my poor car never gets all of its issues fully addressed. Those days are over. I am so grateful for this forum.

I'm undecided its either BlueDriver or Fixd for OBD2 tool. I am the proud new owner of an 04 T-Bird with a brand new check engine light just come on. I am a DIY person, but smart enough to know when I'm about to be over tasked, so I will bring to shop if need be. I'm blessed with family members that are in the auto tech industry, so if need be I can bring to the shop, and it would be nice to bring in, and tell them my opinion what's wrong. So I'm about the purchase one of the two OBD2 readers above, just looking for a little nudge from you all on which one is preferred.

I don't know why a CON of the Bluedriver is "vague" setup instructions. Its literally 4 steps and those
are provided on a laminated plastic card with the device. Neither product (and not many other ODBC
tools either) tell you everything about the older cars; eg. ABS diagnositcs are liminted on almost all of them.

BTW - before you go "medieval" on the check engine light, clear the codes (if found), maybe buy a new gas cap
$20 on eBay (even less at CARID.COM) and run some Techron Fuel Concentrate through a tank of high test gas., then run
the car 100-150 miles.

Hi.
I'm sure its not the best, but I use a Foxwell NT630+. It reads the usual OBD2 codes, plus airbag and antilock brakes. It reads the VIN and has lots of diagnostic tests you can run. Around $140.00, possibly less now, lifetime updates etc.

I've been using Forscan (forscan.org) free software with a USB-based code reader -

• OBDLink EX USB, recommended USB adapter for Windows version of FORScan, also for configuration and programming functions
• vLinker FS USB, recommended USB adapter for Windows version of FORScan, also for configuration and programming functions

I did an OBDLink EX firmware update and it wouldn't read but I had the vlinker hanging about. Used both successfully and VERY highly recommended. Does diagnostic testing and real-time data collection streaming besides just reading/resetting DTC codes.

I have had the BlueDriver model for several years and am quite happy with it. I have a minor evap leak that has been triggering the CEL for several years. My first solution was to put a piece of black electrical tape on the cluster so that the CEL would not distract me while driving at night. It comes on about 2 or 3 times a year, now all I do is cancel the warning (making sure first it is the same issue) with my BlueDriver scan tool.

my T Birds, however the Foxwell will not work on my 21 Tahoe, or my 23 Bronco.

Has anyone tried the Blue Driver on 21 through 23 model cars. Hate to order it and find out it will not work on recent
cars.

Currently Amazon is selling the Blue Driver for $99.95. Since during Cyber Monday it was on sale for $79.95, I told my wife to buy it for me as a Christmas present. After Santa give me my gift, I'll let you know how it works on new model cars. I am interested to see how well it works on German cars.
