Dead Battery

On my 03m you can get into the trunk from a key lock located behind the driver's seat. Flip the seat, forward, put in the ignition key and give it a turn. The lock was put there for just the problem you are having.

Good luck.

Ticket Ted told you how to get to the battery... did you perhaps have the hardtop on when the battery went dead? There is a known problem with the hardtop back window heater not shutting off when you turn off the car. This drains the battery.

Also, everyone with a 2002... lift the hood and check the top bolt holding in the headlights. This plastic boss is cracked or broken all the way though on a large number of the 2002s. Under warranty the fix is a new headlight.

I hope you have better luck than I... when mine went dead I charged it & took it to the dealer. They checked it out and reported noting was wrong. I found out later about the intermitent problem with the hard top glass heater sticking. There are several "timers" on the car to shut off headlights, trunk light, interior lights, etc and if one of them have an intermitent failure its VERY difficult for the dealer to find. I believe it takes three hours to test all the timers and if it doesn't fail when he tests it... well then nothing gets fixed...

Good luck & let us know how you make out.
