351m wont start

I have a 78 bird with 351 modified it spins over but wont start. acts like its not getting gas. new fuel pump no difference tore front of engine apart to check cam essentric all good there replaced timing chain while I had it tore apart. I got it all back together yesterday and still wont fire. pour gas in the carb and it starts, I know it is a fuel problem.. it looks like gas is coming from the pump. maybe a carb issue?

any help would be great. this is driving me crazy what am I mising. thanks

Sounds to me the floats are stuck closed? Check the filter first.

I got a filter before the fuel pump it is new just replaced. is there another one on the carb?

Hi, get a spray bottle with some gas and spray into the carb. See if it starts

Also check your accelerator pump (also called the power piston) Basically look inside the carb when you pump the throttle linkage to see if it squirts fuel into the bore. If it squirts then it is working. If it is not squirting a shot of fuel the engine would crank but not start.

Not sure what carb it is I know it's got motcraft stamped on it. Had a float stuck got her running today..Thanks for the tips.
