Our blackbird does not have the oil cooler, but my mechanic says the Gates 22797 doesn't fit at the motor end.

Any recommendations or advice?

We tried three of the Gates 22797 hoses and an ACDelco Gold 26446X. All had the same problem: With the engine-mount in the proper location, neither end of the hose would line up with the radiator or the engine. We finally decided to cut off the molded-on plastic rings/clamps (arrows), rotated the hoses as needed to fit and replaced the rings with normal hose clamps.
