Select Shift on '05

I have a select shift on my '05 and took it to the dealer to be looked at. The problem is if I start off in select shift first gear, I can not shift from 3rd to 4th. The dealer said they checked it out on other '05 TBirds and they did the same thing. Hubby said it is probably in the computer. Is there anyway I can complain to Ford so they might come up with a reflash? Do any of the other years have this problem? Does anybody have a fix for it? 😕

It sure doesn't sound normal to me but I don't have the SST - whats the point of having the SST if you cant select the gear you want... Id call another dealer. Or even take it to a Lincoln dealer - it's the same engine and trans as in the Lincoln LS.

I also have an 05 Bird with select shift. Read your post and tried it today. Mine works fine . Shifts up from 1 to 5 and all in 5 to 1 as needed. Have dealer fix it!!!

Telling you how many birds have the same problem is the most stupid thing they could have said. Tell them they have many cars to fix then!

I just hope this isn't a California mod. I take it in in a couple weeks for 3000 mile checkup.

Mine also works fine. Had my first chance to use it on steep mountain downgrades during Mountain Thunder.

my select shift works fine as well on my 05. sounds like you have a tranny problem to me
