I purchased a manual ez lift when Bird was new 03'. It works fine for me take the top off in spring, put it on in late fall. Dec this year. It takes a little to figure it out and looks like some space hanger for S & M, but it does not hurt the top gaskets and is fairly easy to do. Wife and I do the top so as not to scratch something. $279 sound about what I paid.
Hardest part is to find ceiling beams to screw into for solid support.
Thanks
Dennis

mr ed What do you mean, "too much hoist"? Too powerful?

I'd be interested to know how you line things up. Taking off a hardtop if it not lined up w/the hoist I can see it swinging. And, when you put the top on how would you get it to drop even clost to the pin holes?
Same questions come to my mind whether manual or electric.
Can you enlighten us?

Hoist

🙂 Yes too much hoist for only a 80 lb. top. I have a small rubber ball hanging from the ceiling, When it hits my windshild i Know iI have got it lined up. If you only take your top off 2 or 3 times a year, get a hand crank job for half the price
