I think you have an AC coolant leak. Does your AC seem as cold as usual or is it feeling like the cabin is not getting as cool as it use to. This is a good tell tale that the AC coolant is slowly leaking.
 
But the car does. When you use either the auto setting or the defrost setting the AC is being used.
Also if the AC compressor seals are leaking they will drip AC coolant whether the AC was used or not.
You could a pan under there to catch some of what is dripping & take it to your trusted mechanic to see. He'll probably will know.
