Hello from Nashville Tn,
Long time car guy , recently bought '61 roadster out of Missouri. Usually a British car type but Dad had one and thought it was a good time to revisit the marque. Found a very clean driver, good paint, nice interior all the brightwork is very nice, top is a bit old but functions well . The owner partially restored in 2014. Fresh tires last week .In the shop for a few fixes. Next is :
1. replace the rear suspension rubber, the front looks rebuilt recently with new shocks all around
2. the disc brake conversion, kit came with the car, brakes rebuilt in 2014 with few miles but the dicsc are much better.
3. finding a after market a/c system and a modern radiator for the xtra heat from a ac.
Need local contacts for Tbird club. Joined the AACA a few days ago.
Suggestions for parts vendor? Birds Nest, Concours parts
Veterans members any suggestions , want to make it a reliable, comfortable club cruiser. Probably done with concourse and resto mods although this one is tempting , thinking 406 intake and heads and EFI, Petronics under the distributor cap, with a TREMEC overdrive.
