I have replaced the thermostat 4 times in the last 4 years. I have also just recently replaced the throttle body (don't even know what that is!). Been getting pressure to "sell, sell, sell" but I love the car and would love to get it fixed once and for all and continue cruising in my T-Bird. I've been told a Lincoln Dealer may be a good resource for service for the T-Bird. I do not wish to sell and would like some feedback on where my best service options are. I'd like to get a complete service review and then address the repairs on an as needed basis. Thanks for your opinions.

That's a hard decision, especially when you love the car! I know the feeling about wondering if time to sell as with having 134,000 on my daily driver. It's the little things like (1) when the radio's controls on the steering wheel seem to have a mind of their own, i.e., lowering/raising the volume control sometimes changes the station instead, using the manual volume control nob on the radio, sends the volume blasting, (2) the tilt steering wheel only moves up and down, the retraction/extension portion of the control no longer works but the motor seems to still operate. These are little annoyances but ones that have me wondering if its time to sell? It's been a trouble free car for the most part all these years of ownership. I love the darn thing and its a hoot to drive, guess I too have answered my wondering question! Good luck with finding the remedies for your TB, Lincoln service is absolutely the place to go for repairs.

You are lucky, My wife loves her 2003! We just had the transmission rebuilt at 75,000. We have had to replace the fan assembly, throttle body, twice, all cops. Heated seat drivers side does not work. It leaks on the passenger side when it rains hard. The cd player works when it feels like it. The last time it quit I bought a new head unit. the factory stereo started working again the next day and it has been working flawlessly for the past 3 months. The windshield washer motor works when it wants to as well. Inspite of all these little annoyance's my wife still loves it and I must admit it is fun to drive. We have decided that we will keep it as long as the engine keeps running correctly and we do not have to replace the trans again. You only live once.

For info.
We bought a 2005 red T'bird in May of 2005. We have had a bare minimum of work done on it. All at the Lincoln dealer.
Actually, as George may recall when we were talking about warranties, it was my wife's car and I very seldom got to drive it. That is, except to get it serviced, etc
She passed away some time ago, and so I have been driving it ever since.
86000+ miles. Warranty up in May of 2005. My Lincoln dealer suggested that I go ahead and renew the warranty for another 3 years , or 36K miles. so I did.
$2200 for the warranty.
I know why she loved the car.......
If you want to keep it, keep it. Will do wonders for your spirit!!!!!!!!!!
Jim

I am going thru the same thing I love the car but afraid to drive anywhere because of all the repairs I've had to do now it won't pass emissions and it is probably just a sensor. 2002 model with only 96000 miles. It is so beautiful
