Hi, I have 2003 that has 38,720 miles. The ABS, Traction Control and Brake light with ! symbol came on dash when started. The car will run but drives like a tank for steering, speedo does not work and brakes feel weird. There are no fluid leaks and fluids are full.

I had the codes on a Launch reader say PCM: P0500FF, P1000FF, P2106FF, U1039FF, EATC: B1262, B2799,B1265, B2426, ACM: U1041, U2003. A BlueDriver reader says PCM: P1000, ABM: B1342, REM: U1041, Generic Body Electronic: U1041, Instrument Cluster: U1262, U1041, EATC: B2426.

When codes have been reset by the Launch Reader the car runs 100% fine for approx 5 miles. Shut it off and restart and the 3 lights come back and car is not right again. Sometimes the wrench and Check Engine light will also come on. I have one Transmission place telling me he thinks the PCM needs replacing or repaired according to the codes. Another transmission place wants to do a full diagnostic. I have the read the posts where someone cleaned the ABS module connectors. I bought 3 vehicle speed sensors for the transmission (dropping it somewhat to replace them) but not sure if they need replacing or not.

Any help with a direction to go forward would be greatly appreciated my fellow Tbirders.

PS I have oil changed regularly and always 92 octane fuel. Repairs: changed the rear disc pads (2016), COP's (26K, 2017, due to rough running), New A/C compressor, ac belt (2019, 30k mileage), Fuel filter (2020, 30.5k), Power Steering fluid replaced (2023, 35.6K), Cabin Filter and Air filter (2024, 38k), New Battery - SSB 65PLT (2025, 38,7K).

Thank you for the info on the ABS module. Does the battery have to be disconnected before removing the module?

Anytime you disconnect any control module in any vehicle, the first thing you should do is to disconnect the battery. Before you start removing the ABS control module do some basic testing first. You stated the PCM has fault code P0500 stored in memory, that would be a good place to start.

Thank you for the info. Anything electrical I was thinking yes best to do battery. Wish this was just an easy fix but it's getting complicated and I'll have to have someone do these tests. I am not getting any "C" codes for the wheel sensors so thinking they are okay. Will have to work on this. Ugh.
