I installed the Borla exhaust on my 2005 TBird and very pleased, Installed in my garage in 3 hrs on jack stands. This Borla exhaust is a must have and very well made I think any one can install this system there self with ease. No cut torch and no welding just that simple.

I thought maybe I could add something here, but it looks like you guys are on top of it. Have any of you also added the cold air intake??

Yes, I have also installed K&N Cold air intake , Very easy install I just added flex aluminum like for a dryer (the heavy duty not with wire) From under the filter to front of car on back side of lower air intake for cold air.BirdEngine1.jpgBirdEngine1.jpg

I know it has been a minute since this post. But did you do all the work yourself? I have a 02 and wish I could have as much view to my coil cover ans the 03-05 birds. My question is, did you use a company? I saw that you said you added some chrome to the plastic engine cover. I would love to buy or do it to. My 02, any pointers or directions on where or how I can make it happen?

If you really want a power increase replace the old California cats (if you live in a state where you can).
Biggest problem with these cars is the cat converters. A borla (I own one) simply won't fix the major restriction.

Guess what that is? Older California cats. Unlike what many will tell you I'll tell you that these cats are foolish and restrict flow create poor mileage and kill power when new so you can imagine how bad it is after 20+ years. And I like a quiet car but darn the lack of power and the problems (and heat) they cause.

The moral of the story is this. Don't do half the job.

Replace the converters and bite the bullet on cost.

If the California emission systems actually worked they would be working in LA.

Smog? Still there everyday?? There ya go.

So the only way to actually fix the problem is to completely fix the problem.

That's a borla exhaust, magnaflow cats and a cold air intake (remove the airbox).

May not be popular and will cost money (around 2K).

A engine is a simply a air pump powered by a fuel (gasoline in this case). Any restriction produces more pollution and eats more fuel.

And firing the cats off everywhere you go is a danger to not only you and the car, it causes undue damage to the car and to the atmosphere and excess heat to the environment.

Global warming? Making more heat and pollution while using more fuel is not the answer
