Regarding the 4100 carb vacuum advance line (steel) , i am not getting a good seal on the carb side.
i'm sure its leaking because the line is not completely tight and the mixture screws were out about 2.5 turns+ (from previous owner) and of course the engine runs rich.
the brass fitting seems to "bottom out " before tightening the line onto the seat in the carb. i have a long list of rejections as to finding a longer fitting or one with a nipple on it to convert to rubber tubing.
even mike's carburetor said no luck because its a double flare .
many thanks in advance for a good solution,
Mark

Pull the line out and make sure the little brass cone is still in there.
Vacuum advance doesn't have any vacuum at idle because it's a ported vacuum. You can convert it to a rubber line with the proper fitting and maybe a little thread sealer like Gasoila, just don't give up.

You can check to see if you have any local brake component rebuilders in your area. I'm not sure if I have any of those carbs left. I'll take a look.
