1962 Fender bolts originally Painted?

We recently purchased a 1962 Thunderbird Convertible-a project that someone started but didnt finish.

Can anyone confirm- when these cars left the manufactory plant, whether the bolts, under the hood, that attach the front quarter panels were painted the same color as the external paint or where they just left unpainted?

I have seen several models that have had full restoration but some are painted and some are not.
