Hi, I just got a 67. It was my dad's for the last 10 years and needs some love. I have been doing some light maintenance and found out the thermostat had been removed. Seemed like a very easy thing to do.... but I have been unable to find the correct thermostat. The thermostat available is to small. The flange diameter the housing is 2.5" and the hole is 1.96". The hole in the head is 2". The thermostat I have found it's 1.98. Any ideas? Not sure if the intake manifold has been replaced. Thanks

Thermostats are usually a slightly loose fit in the hole that they sit in. If I am reading your post correctly it’s OK.
Remember when you do install it, that the side with the spring faces the engine, NOT the radiator!
