I need a starter for my 61 convertible.
Suggestions for a high torgue mini starter will be greatly appreciated.
And how do I confirm a 184 tooth flywheel?
I am obviously not the gearhead I wish I was.
With the right starter, I should be able to accomplish the replacement.

This car is so much fun to drive. Just another glitch to fix.

Thank you David

Well David, You will have to take off the old one for core the charge. When you take it off, inspect the gears and compare when the parts guy gives you a fresh starter.

Hi there. Rock Auto has starters and starter drives for the '61. As I understand, it's the drive that has the teeth that need to match with the flywheel. If your drive is OK, you can swap it onto the new starter.
