I replaced my valve cover gaskets soem time on on my 02 TBird, it can be done by yourself if you are fairly good as car stuff but it took ages as there is so much junk over and around them, its very tight in there. Mine started by a misfire, took the coils and plugs out to find they had oil, the gaskets on the plug holes has literally melted away, the owner before me (only one before me thankfully) had put silicon caulking down the hole to try and stop it so you can imgaine the mess I had to clean up. But I did it and she runs fine. Some (well actually quite a few) of the bolts are in places you cannot reach and have to be a contortionist. Sorry but its true, I had a very, very small oil leak for over a year and finally found it to be a bolt in a virtually unreachable place at the back that wasn't tight enough, had to go from below to get to it, now she's fine.
