rear window defrost wire

the right side hardtop mount post has two different wires (currently unattached) nearby. I suspect that these are for the soft and hardtop defrosters. Am I correct? If so, please advise me (a newbie) how to attach (a photo would really help). Thank you!

I was wrong about unplugging the soft top wires and plug in the hard top wires. I just took pictures of my hardtop, and it looks like the wires are connected to the hardtop rear mounting post via a black round cap.
