Sometimes when I start the car when the radio is on the vol is normal, ie. as I left it. Frequently, if I touch the knob to increase or lower, the vol goes max and can't be regulated. Have to turn the radio off and try again. Suspect it may be in the speed-volume regulating circuit and the fault might not be in the radio itself but in the speed connection. Anyone have that problem? Any suggestions other that R&R? Can I easily disable the speed control feature - cut a wire somewhere? Thx for any help.

I sometimes have a similar problem with my 05 when the volume control doesn't operate properly and it tends to get louder. However, I have found controlling the volume from the steering wheel even briefly corrects the problem at least for the time being.
