Does anyone know what amperage is drawn by the radio/cd player in a 2002 Thunderbird? I am wondering if one of these 120 VAC blocks that you plug into a wall outlet and it converts to 12 VDC will work to power the unit. The radio/cd player is out of the car and I would like to bench test it to see if the cd player functions.

Unless someone responds, or you find the specs, you will need an amp meter to connect between a 12v batt and the hot lead on the radio. Then you will know what to look for in a power supply. Don't limit your thinking to the ac/dc modular adapters, you could use a small 12v battery charger. I have a 1 amp, 3 amp and 6 amp small portable batt chargers. Might have to add a capacitor. Anyway, it can be done. Cheers, JW in Dixie.
