I removed the heater box with heater core in it to replace numerous vacuum hoses. I do not wish to do either of those jobs again. My heater core was good but like I said I do not wish to remove heater box again to change it. I know the purists will quiver with my fix but I will be able to change my heater core in less than one hour in the future when needed. The heater box was installed without the heater core which made it much easier to install. I then installed heater core and used some 0.032 stainless wire to secure two most aft mounts. The front mounts were not secured but water pipes were pulled and taped to the passenger side and silicone placed on drivers side to push and hold core sealed internally to box internal. Now next week when my heater core fails (lol) all I have to do is slice sealant on pipes on firewall and snip to wires and slide heater core out. If you want something done quick give it to a lazy person!
