Give me your 17 digit VIN, or the year and last five digits of your VIN, and I'll tell you how many cars were made like yours.
I would guess that my 05 is 1 of 1500 as it is a Cashmere and I think they are all alike but I would love to know as much as I can find out about it such as the build date. Thanks Mike

Sue — I have to admit that I had a good chuckle when I read your final question. I know it’s sometimes considered rude to ask people what they paid for something, but I suppose we are all an extended family of sorts here.

If Tarre was from Winnipeg, like me, she would have told you up front what she paid. For some strange reason that is what we do here, regardless of what the item is. The downside is that Winnipeg is often known as Wholesale City, so as soon as you confess what you paid for something, you’re very likely to hear how somebody could have got you a better deal. “I know a guy ...”

Bought my Tbird ~3 years ago, it now has 37k miles on it. Would like to know more about her, if you don't mind. Do you know how to get a build sheet?

Sue, notice that Tarre's post was from 2005.

Dino,
A Ford Company lease plan is NOT a typical rent-a-car, it was most likely ordered by a retired Ford executive.

G-Bird,
Im not sure what you are thinking of when you say "build-sheet" - I worked at Ford and the item we called a build sheet is one of the papers affixed to the car as it was being built, and it contained the codes and information employees needed to build the car to the customers order. These are not available and I don't know of anyone who ever got one.
If you mean the window sticker, see the bottom of this post.

Quickdraw thank you for the information on my car. I really appreciate all your work on finding this information.
You do a great service for us. Thanks Carl

Thank you for the details on my car. Interesting that it shows the hardtop as being black, because the one on the car is Merlot. CarProof history shows quite a few owners, so I'm sure there is a story out there.

Also ... you mentioned to Dino that a Ford Company Lease Plan was most likely ordered by a retired Ford executive. Company leases are available to anybody in management roll positions (as well us higher level retirees), and the majority of these are vehicles for spouses and children. I know mine were ... an amazing perquisite. Too bad I wasn't at a higher level when I retired ... lease cars for life!

Icewine,
The fact that yours originally came with a black hardtop can be verified by the data plate on the car or the window sticker. On the data plate the top color should show "UA" for Evening Black.
I thought it was more likely a retired Ford executive ordered it because I don't know how many active executives Ford has in Puerto Rico. Does Ford have any facilities there? But then maybe a dealership executive lease would also come under that heading "Ford Company Lease."
Where did you work? I was at Chicago Stamping but unfortunately didn't qualify for a lease car. I would love to have your contact info... email or phone...
