Door Lights?

Another question, haven't found this in the BOOK. Are the lights on the door panels supposed to light, that is if they are lights. Mine do nothing. Don't even reflect very well.
PS. Where is the light under the hood? Can't believe no one has brought this up yet. Because there is none.

couple of reasons to put lights there.

(i think) the most important one is so that when you are parallel parked and open your door, the cars coming from behind have a better chance of seeing that your door is open at night.)

another reason is that they can add additional "cabin" light at night when you turn your interior lights on to read a map or find something dropped on the floor.
