When I first got the car I told myself I would always use the boot when the top was down. Then reality set in. Now I find that the storage area that the top folds into is getting dirty. This is the area you look down into when standing next to the car.

Is there a way to clean this area? If I spray water into it, do I have to worry about rust due to the area not completely drying? I assume there's wheep holes, but they probably weren't designed thinking someone would spray (soapy) a hose into the area. And what about any mechanicals down there, including nuts and bolts.

BTW - I'm using the boot MUCH more often. No need to coach me on good car grooming habits.
