Hi Everyone,

Can anybody give me their experience and advice about the best way to polish wax and generally upkeep a new black T-bird. I've heard of those products specifically made for black cars. Anyone used them. What do you think about their quality? Thanks. -pj

You can't go too far wrong with Zaino - the Z-5 is made to take care of the swirl marks that black cars are famous for... Other than that, Meguires makes some good stuff and is are available at autostores. Zaino is mail order only. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc

My Black Bird now has 8 coats of Zaino. I just can't believe how much better it can still look! Harry is dead on in that the anti-swirl 'flavor' works pretty well on the swirl marks. I always follow that up with a coat of the 'regular' Zaino and it really does shine better than any thing I've ever seen or tried. Looks about 3 feet deep. With the Bird, I purchased at a discount the 6-installment dealer applied 'finish protectant' because it was a black vehicle. I stripped all that off with Dawn and applied the Zaino. I think so much of the Zaino products I told the dealer I would forget the other 5 treatments.

Zaino makes it look so much better than it ever did on the showroom floor. (Note: The Zaino instructions can sound complicated but they really are not. This is a product you will not ever regret trying. Also, after the first coat, the finish is so smooth that subsequent coats can be applied really quickly. Follow their advice regarding towels, etc. It will prevent many of those swirl marks in the first place).
