So I just bought my 2003 Thunderbird about three weeks ago, I love it, it has been taken care of almost babied, all warranty work done, coils and cats replaced..etc. Now for my question, I have a Mustang GT with a Magnaflow Catback 3" exhaust and with the top down I want the T-bird to have a similar growl but not quite as much as the mustang. Now really for my question, besides the Borla system I have seen what are my other options that people have done, Youtube and Google searchers have not yielded too much, I have listened to many Lincoln LS clips with Flowmaster, Magnaflow etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I put Flowmasters in the rear and removed the forward in line mufflers with straight pipe. (saved old parts) Nice mellow sound for a fraction of Borlas..Black Beauty! ps I have the 3015 SCT tuner too

Before you spend any money, remove the rear resonators and see if that's the sound you want. Some have done that and love it.

I have the Borla's and still not happy with them. I was looking for the old '50's flathead V8 sound, but I guess you can't get that without a flathead😀

George do you mean 'fat head'? I bought the rear flowmasters, not even aware of the front mufflers...the sound I get is about right...anymore and my wife will notice...

No Greg. Flathead is correct. Flathead engines were on all V8 Fords from 1932 to 1953. Almost all early Hot Rods ran with Ford Flathead engines, "souped-up" 😎
I guess I'm a lot older than you🙂

just humor George, guess I'm used to TBF. I had a 40 Ford flathead (later model) that had Edmunds heads ans 2-2 barrel set up.....thats before the Rocket Olds V8!
