57 Lower radiator hose install

Has anybody got any tricks to install the lower radiator hose? My arms are tired from trying to wrestle it on. Lubed the hose so it slides on the bibs but there doesn't seem to be enough room to bend it enough to slip on. Putting it on the water pump first as that has the longest run but getting it on the radiator without bending the outlet with tools seems impossible.

It is very difficult but i just did one last week it will go on. I got it started on one side and then pushed (streatched) it over the radiator inlet.

If you still have the old hose around compare it to the new one. I ordered a replacement hose (the standard not concours correct) from Casco that I was not able to put on. If I remember correctly it was longer than the old one.

Know that old Jimmy buffet song 'Margaritaville line "it's my own darn fault?' I replaced the hose with the Ford labeled replacement when I replaced the water pump about 3 years ago. I neglected to lube it up before putting it on but I managed. It leaked after a good cruise because I never got it on properly over the shoulders. I thought I punctured it By it rubbing on the suspension and ever worse when trying to re-seat it with a wonder bar. Turns out it was fine just shoddy workmanship on my part. The new one is an exact replacement. Just need to go back at it with a fresh attitude as I HAVE done it before but now with more attention to detail.

Thanks guys, I finally got the bloody thing on. I'm going to let it and me ( talk about an upper body work-out ) rest a couple of days to let it seat before I put the clamps on. Now any recommendations on antifreeze? These old cars don't need the special stuff these new high tech cars need.
