Bought a nice 56 a few days ago and starting the sorting out process. Older restoration did a partial replace of the exhaust. This one has a crossover and the resonators are probably in the wrong place. Mufflers, resonators and pipes are ok but the tail pipes were obviously original and now perforated.
Local muffler shop says he probably cannot reproduce the last foot that goes inside the bumper.
Any one had experience with the exhaust kits from CASCO and Concours Parts. Does the resonator make a difference? Wife would like it a bit quieter.

A crossover? I am attaching a breakdown of the exhaust system for the '56. Why couldn't your exhaust guy make parts right up to 5202 and 5203? then all you need is those two parts to finish it out the bumper. Also. Yes I would think if you installed resonators it would quiet it down.
