Old member back after 5 years Thermostat, air conditioner, heater vent issues?? 55,000 miles. When I turn on the defroster in rainy weather (live in Seattle) now fogging the windshield and need to pull over, very unsafe. Anyone know what might be causing this??

When you were posting, you thought "2005 Anniversary Edition" was a summary of what your post is about? How is anyone supposed to know what your post is about when you don't even title it?

Post title has been revised.

David, Does the A/C work normally? You need dehumidified air moving over the interior windshield surface to clear the fog vapor.

Two possibilities. Make sure the A/C is charged and cycling on when in defrost mode.
Unfortunately the other possibility is a leaking heater core.
Do you get a slight smell of antifreeze when the window fogs up?

In addition to the AC functionality and heater core, make sure the AC Evaporator drain isn’t blocked and you have a plenum full of water.

Sometimes using the recirculated air mode will cause the window to fog up in cold moistconditions.
