2005 computer reset after battery disconnect?

I am wondering if when the battery is disconnected during repairs if it affects
the onboard computers. When I had my 01 Jag I had, had work done just before
getting her smogged and she wouldn't pass as the computer needed to be reset
by driving her for a certain distance and at a certain speed.
Also is it safe to jump start my 05 if the battery goes dead. where the computers are concerned.

In your owner's manual it shows you the steps needed after you change the battery, also gives directions on how to jump start your T-Bird with diagrams pretty easy.
