Neither of the cig lighter sockets go off with the switch. Would like to access 12v in the over windshield area that is switched for GPS and car cam. Any suggestions?

Thanks, but what I want to do is to eliminate dangling wires by connecting the devices into the above the mirror panel.
Is any of the stuff in that panel switched OFF by the ignition? Cheers

you have an 04 I think they have the homelink buttons, mine does and they only work with ignition on(switched)so that power lead should work

Thanks, HMM, if I can figure out how to get into that panel without breaking plastic, I will give it a go.
Anyone know how?
Cheers

Harbor freight has some great plastic pry tools. They are made for prying off these plastic mouldings. A set of four is under 15 bucks. I used these a few times.
