My bird has 124k miles. Yesterday I was cruising along using cruise control. For some reason instead of touching the brake I pushed the cancel button on cruise control . The engine started to die and has I pulled over, died completely. I restarted and all was fine and normal. I am wondering if this is a fuel system problem or a computer problem or something else. Any ideas ?

Check codes with a good OBDII reader, I use the Blue Driver and see if anything was logged. Nobody can diagnose this issue effectively on the internet.

The FEM and Clock Spring are both tied to cruise control issues, however a mechanic would need to look at your car to determine if either of these is the culprit or if it's fuel system related, a COPS or engine issue, etc.
