2002 - Replacing Trunk struts

Not sure they're called struts, but the "struts" that hold up my trunk need to be replaced and wondered if there was any "friendly advice" before I proceed. Auto Store v. Ford, online, etc. Removal and replace (looks like a clip you pull out from another video I saw (not a T-bird), so thats as far as I've gone.

Very easy to replace just make sure you do one at a time or prop up the lid so it does not hit you in the head. You can get the struts on E bay. I replaced mine on trunk and hood

That's all I did, Got mine from local store have been on for about a year no problems
 
Trunk struts are easy to replace but be sure to prop the trunk open with a piece of wood otherwise it will fall when you remove the old ones. You just pop them off and push the new ones on. They do not have to be the genuine ford part.
