I have a 2002 T-bird with a hydraulic fan. It speeds up when the A/C is turned on as expected, but it increases speed at a very slow rate. I don't know if this is normal.
When the A/C is turned off, it slows down very slowly. When the car is turned off, the fan keeps spinning for awhile as it slows to a stop. There is little to no resistance when I turn the blade by hand.
I'm suspicious because I've had cooling problems with the car in the past and I think the problems are somewhat tied up with the A/C.
Can someone tell me if the fan is meant to change speeds instantly?
