2002-2003-2004-2005 Ford Thunderbird Control Arm With Ball Joint MCSOE38 MCSOE39 Motorcraft

Just checking . . . has anyone actually bought and installed, or had this kit installed? I saw a comment above that the seller may not re-stock, but the same seller has multiple listings with different available quantities. For the moment I'm less concerned about availability, and more interested to know if anyone has any feedback. Hamburg-Technic has iffy reviews. Thanks.

Doesn't get much more legit than that! Its not like there are tons of options out there.

My lower front ball joints are 16mm. They made 14mm ones, finding lower control arm with the 16mm is hard. Is it better to change to the 14mm ball joints or find 16mm lower control arms.

Just purchased and had installed a suspension rebuild kit. What a difference in handling! We've owned "Da Bird" for 13 years now, having purchased it in Western North Carolina while on temporary assignment with a contract manufacturer there. I'm a recovering Tool & Die maker (Injection Molds) now working as a Tooling Engineer with a major irrigation manufacturer in Tucson, AZ. I say this to illustrate that I pretend to be mechanically astute.

Da Bird has only accumulated 38k miles (had 14K on the odometer when we liberated it) in our years of ownership. It followed us up to Cincinnati area after NC, where I noticed that there were not very many 11th gen T-Birds in the area(I think we only saw one in the 6-years we lived there). I solved the COPs issue (new COPs and plugs) along with loss-of-power issue (swapping out TPS several years ago, writeup on this forum). Moving back home to Tucson, I noticed the handling was getting sloppy. Steering loose, as was the rear suspension. A bit premature for the low miles on the car. 11th generation "Birds" have had issues with the rubber bushings deteriorating rapidly and there are quite a few bushings in a Jaguar derived suspension. Love the car but now my 12-year-old VW Beetle handled much better. I finally purchased the rebuild kit on sale and took Da Bird down to a reputable suspension shop here in town to execute the install. The shop did the install and aligned all four corners in about a day and a half. I have close to $4k invested but am thrilled with the way it now handles. To say it handles fantastic just doesn't do it justice. My problem now will be to keep a disciplined approach to driving it around town, it's that fun to drive.

Last interesting fact: I have noticed more 11th Gen Birds here in Tucson then anywhere we've been.
