No need to apologize, I'm always willing to try helping someone with their mn-12 Bird, I bought mine new, I don't know everything about but I've learned a lot thru the years......you said you replaced the crankshaft sensor down under but did you ever replace the camshaft sensor up on top behind the
power steering resevior(3 bolts) ? a lot more easy to do than the crankshaft sensor down below..
Also keep an eye on the "
check engine" light during cranking, it should go out during cranking, that shows that the pcm is getting a signal from the crank sensor.......
On the key fob
part, I don't know a thing about them, never dealt with them in my life, my '95 don't have that and I've heard that key fob's can cause a start issue but don't know for sure.....
yes that ignition switch on the steering column is one important
part for starting and running, it sends juice every direction, I did mine not long ago, ya gotta take that bottom plastic
part off under the steering column and lower not drop the steering column to get at it, just loosen the two nuts out as far as you can, and that will allow you enough room to swap ignition switch, just make sure you pop off the neg. battery cable first.............
I just though of another thing that can cause a crank, no-start, the tps, the pcm will not allow the car to start if it does'nt know where the throttle position is...........
And this one I've heard for many years, the coolant sensor, the one that has 2 or 3 wires going to it, can keep the car from starting, I've heard that if the pcm thinks the motor is real high water temp, it will not allow car to start, that kinda makes sense to me but I don't know for sure( I swapped mine out a few years back just not to take any chances) on that
part.......
Oh, and another thing, the IAC can give a no-start if it is not allowing any air in during cranking, your suppose to try just a little throttle during cranking to see if that is the problem..........
Sorry about being long-winded but there is just a lot of things that have to be working proper for it to fire up.......
I really hate to ask but how many miles are on your Bird ?
