I have a 1988 thunderbird with the 5.0 v8. I have a couple questions about the windshield. There is a nice size crack in the windshield. The whole thing needs to be replaced. The heater core needs to be replaced also. The previous owner told me that the windshield needs to be taken out for it to be replaced. But I have seen some youtube videos of people replacing it without taking the windshield out. My question is, does the windshield need to be taken out for the heater core to be replaced? Should I replace both at the same time? Or can I get away with just replacing the windshield now and the heater core later? My fear is that I'll replace the windshield only to find out that it needs to be removed again when I go to replace the heater core.

No need to include "Thunderbird" in your subject. I edited it.

I've never heard of having to remove ANY windshields to replace ANY heater core. Do some more YouTube videos on it.
