I recently bought a '64 Bird, non A/C car. The vent control cables at the top of the dash are partially connected, but the three for the console are not, and only the shortest one actually works. The next longer one is frozen and the longest one is broken on one end. Can anyone HELP!?

Is there a contagious cable disease going on with 64 Thunderbirds? It just happened to mine last week. I went to use one of vent levers and nothing . I'll have to take the cover off and check it out. If you come up with a fix Larry please let me know. Thanks Dan ( Forest Hill, Md.)

Larry you got me interested in my cable situation so I just got done taking it apart. It seems that both the connecting ring holders have broken off. This keeps the outer sleeving of the cable from moving when pulling or pushing vent levers. Mine are plastic and that doesn't seem to hold up. Any ideas to make this repair more permanent would be greatly appreciated .
