I have a 57 tbird and I am trying to remove the left-hand vent cable from the dash so I can replace the dash cover. I took the nut off the back from behind the dash on the cable but it didn't seem to loosen and I couldn't pull it out. Any help on what I am missing.

If you disconnect the cable at the vent on the left inner fender
Loosen the jamb nut at the forward side of the knob
you can pull the cable assembly out from the dash
