Is there a way to take out the glass on the rear view mirror so I can have it rechromed also to take out the mounting stud. I've had other parts chromed at a shop 3 hours away and did a great job. I have the original Ford stamped mirror and mount. Plus other parts to be done when the weather turns here in northern Indiana.

I would just ask the shop what they recommend. They probably know how to do it. If you trust the shop don't question the expertise of the person doing the job.
