Hi. I have lived in WI for 15 years and have seen most of the state and it is a good state for touring. I think the SW corner would be best to start at - the town of Mineral Point dates back to the 1820's and looks it and is also home to the Hooks cheese factory, a former world champion cheese maker, also home to the Mineral Point Hotel. From this area you could drive up the Mississippi, as the segment of the river north of here is easily the most scenic segment of the whole river. Near here is also Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright's personal home and Baraboo, home of the circus museum. Madison is also not far and is a beautiful city.
Door County is definitely worth visiting, including the remote Washington Island.
Thr northeastern corner of the state is the most rustic, with huge tracts of wilderness and a lot of wildlife. Madeleine Island and the adjacent Lake Superior southern shore is another scenic area and Hayward is not far from there, with its Fisherman's Hall of Fame. La Crosse is a picturesque city. Duluth, MN is also worth visiting.
