I would like to buy a used damper removal tool. Hate to pay $50 for a new one to use 1 time! Or if anyone has had success using a conventional tool please let me know!

Hi,
You can make your own tool. I used a metal bar ~ 1 inch wide and about 1/4" thick , long enough to go through the 2 slots in the damper. Drill a hole in the middle of the bar and tack weld a nut (nut should be on the side facing the damper bolt) over the hole. Put a bolt through the nut long enough to reach the loosened damper bolt and then jack the damper off of the crankshaft.

Good luck
