I have 11,000 miles on my 02 Bird with - trouble free until a few weeks ago I notice a rattle from the underside-passenger side of car. I thought that I must have left a loose object in trunk or spare tire compartment but that was not the case. When noise continued I took it back to the dealer. Turned out to be a sway bar bracket. IT SEEMS OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. Ford has a notice out to the dealers about it. It was corrected and in my opinion the bird flies better then ever. So you may want to have this checked out at your next service.
