Not sure if this works for you but at least it is what one 2003 owner found out:

"If I remember right there are 3 bulbs 1 under the P-R , 1 under the D- d2 , and the last under the +- on the right side. they are on a tree and push in . None of mine worked and the problem was the connector on the harness was unplugged. Once you get the cover off you should be able to see the bulbs and wiring. I don't think that you have to mess with the shifter. Happy wrenching "

Shift light bulbs

Mine were out. I found that the main cover including the armrest just snaps off. Then the module which holds the shifter positions and the bulbs also just pops off from four plastic friction holders. Then the bulbs are very visable. There are just two #37 bulbs which I got from Advanced Auto.
