I have an 03 Premium I bought new with 8500 miles on it. I am having some intermittent starting problems and have traced it down to the alarm system randomly preventing starting. There is a small Ford dealer in my town but I don't think they have anyone who really knows this car and I am not fond of someone just swapping expensive parts until they think it works (maybe).

I live NW of Atlanta GA near Lake Allatoona. Does anyone know of a qualified mechanic/dealer, that they have actually used, in this area? I have heard that I would be better off with a Lincoln dealer since the LS is nearly the same car and there are a lot of them.😕😕

Your help is sure welcome.

I agree, I had two different Ford dealers starting in 2002 and ended up very satisfied with a local Lincoln dealer, since 2010.

As many have mentioned in the past you need to take it to a Lincoln dealer since made of the components were on the Lincoln LS.

Jim: Don't know how old the car/battery is. BUT, when the batteries are old in these cars, they do funny things like you mentioned. If you bought the car used, pull the battery to see if there is a date on it. Chances are that's all you need.
Glad you agree about a Lincoln dealer. In fact maybe they can test your battery. Usually around $119.00 installed.
