I wonder if I should not try to organize a Road Rally with TbirdTims' help in the Smoky Mountains since I live here and know all the points of interest. Everyone could drive over the mountain into Cherokee too and go to Harrahs and Dollywood is pretty nice too now.

Points of Interest here.

1) Great Smoky Mountains National Park (#1 visited park in the US) http://greatsmokymountains.areaparks.com/
2) Dollywood http://www.dollywood.com
3) Harrahs Cherokee Casino 1 hours 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge. http://www.harrahs.com/our_casinos/che/

One week after we got the Bird, we went to Franklin, NC for a week and did pretty much what you are talking about. What a wonderfull way to break in the new car.

DavidA will probably have some good input as I believe he does a lot of biking up in that area.

Shame it is a 12 hour drive from here.

The North Carolina side of the Smokeys is also very nice with several interesting places to visit. Chattanooga would also make a great event site.
