Hi All:
I just bought a '56 a few months ago and it has front power disk brakes added before I bought it. It uses a dual master cylinder with the front brakes only assisted by the stock booster. The problem is with the pedal. I find that it tends not to release all the way especially when I first start out and I can feel the brakes dragging. If I lift up, (maybe 1/4") it releases and may be fine for the day. The secondary problems is the mechanical brake light switch. I have it adjusted but sometimes it does not turn off. I put in a new switch but it needs to be within 1/16" to turn the lights off. I adjusted the pedal push rod with the proper slack but it seems that there is not enough pressure to push it back up sometimes. I even added a spring to add a little extra pull but it has not helped. Any suggestions? My wife won't drive the car because the amount of pressure needed to stop, even with the booster is high for her.
