Not sure if you or any other member here is still interested but there's a guy in FL that just used the LS parts. Here's what he says:

"I changed out the struts on my Bird. Actually, I put in the Lincoln LS Sport strut with Eibach springs. Nevertheless, if you had a fully assembled (with spring) struts in hand. I'd rate the job difficulty at a 6 out of 10. That assumes you have average mechanical skills. An oil change would be a "one". You actually have many options. You can buy an assembled strut. You can buy the strut and spring separately and have a suspension shop install the spring (note: you'll have to use some parts off the old strut). You can can install the spring yourself. Difficulty goes way up with this option, but not impossible. I'd do it again. Outside of the issue of changing the spring, replacing the strut assembly itself has different challenges in the front and the back."
